Personal Statement

HARPER PERTCHIK, #15

I am a 5"11 class of 2020, versatile player who grew up playing club in Florida for USA South and am currently attending high school at The Hotchkiss School in Connecticut. 

I play middle hitter on my high school team because my team needed strength and height in center-court.  I have played right side and outside on my club team, where I was elected MVP this past year.

I chose to attend The Hotchkiss School because of its academic reputation, so academics matter a great deal to me.  I am proud that this season I had two opposing coaches approach me after matches and tell me they based their offense on where I was on the court. I work very hard and am a supportive team-mate. I also have some beach experience.  I was selected as a school ambassador by the admissions department and was also selected as a Big Sister. I intend to study environmental studies/business in college. 

 I believe that I can have a real impact on the volleyball court and the community.
