Logan Hughes '19 Recruiting Profile

     My name is Logan Hughes and I am a senior middle and outside hitter from Dover, Delaware. I am dedicated to the game of volleyball and always give 120% in every practice and every game. I work to do the very best that I can in every situation. I am very grateful for my coaches and teammates for giving me the opportunities to grow as a player and as a leader.

    My freshman year, I transitioned between my primary position and secondary position as middle and right side. That experience allowed me to improve my game by learning a new position. My sophomore year, I played my primary position as a middle hitter and had the third most aces on my team with my standing serve with topspin. My junior year, I hit middle and lead my team in blocks, aces, and kills. I was not a starter my freshman year, but was able to start my sophomore and junior seasons. For my club team, I hit outside and am now learning the setter position.

    Off the volleyball court, I maintain a 3.8 GPA as well as participate in many extracurricular activities that my school has to offer. I am a member of the National Honor Society, Model United Nations, Campus Ministry, Liturgical Choir, She's the First, and the Out of the Darkness Walk for Suicide Prevention Committee. I am the Vice President of the Junior Class and the President of the Student Ambassador Club. I am passionate about volunteering in my community by helping at my parish's Vacation Bible School and the local hospital. I am a member of the Catholic Youth Ministry Advisory Board for the Diocese of Wilmington as well as the Youth Leadership Team.

    My work ethic and compassionate personality make me different from other recruits. I thrive to lead both my school and travel teams with positivity and encouragement. The sport of volleyball has taught so many important life lessons and I hope to continue the sport that I love beyond my high school years.
