2020 High School ...Personal Statement
Hello, I am Elizabeth Southard. I have been playing volleyball for ten years and have helped coach elementary for three. From match point to the backyard, I do my best to give 120% every ball. I love pushing the limits of my current skills and level of play to get better and grow. Every time I touch the ball, I have the opportunity to give my teammates the best chance at success.
In 2019 and 2020, my high school varsity team has been district champions. In 2020 we finished regional runner-up. I ran a 5-1 offense both seasons, 2020 season as captain.
This 2021 season I was unable to play due to injury this past spring. However, I was given the opportunity to coach our all-girls, middle school team. I will be returning to play in the fall for club, playing for FEVA. Being forced to sit on the sidelines allowed me to find myself outside of volleyball as well as grow my love for the game. I was able to continue to learn by observing and as I get back into playing it shows. I can't wait to expand my knowledge and skills further.
