Personal Statement
Hi, I'm Ashley!
I am a junior at Evangelical Christian School in Fort Myers Florida. I have been playing volleyball (school and club) for seven years and I am a setter, right-side hitter, and defensive specialist. I am open to play any position depending on the needs of the coach and team. I have been chosen to be the Athlete of the Month three times and Player of the Year (2017) at USA SOUTH Volleyball Club. I am a team player with a good attitude. In addition to Florida, I have played volleyball – both club and school in Colorado and Pennsylvania.
My volleyball goals are to reach my fullest potential as a volleyball player, compete at a high-level, and eventually coach at a college/university-level. I would like to make volleyball part of the rest of my life. Doing so will provide me the opportunity to give-back to others and pass-on everything my coaches have taught me.
In college, I would like to study to become a Geriatric Nurse because I love helping other people (especially the elderly). Helping others is my passion. I enjoy volunteering at one of our local hospitals and raising money for homeless veterans. I have also volunteer for the Special Olympics in Lee County, Florida. Regardless of my path in life, I plan on making helping others a cornerstone to my life.
Concerning school, I am on the National Honor Society and maintain a 3.8 GPA and placed second two years in a row with my science fair project. I am currently taking honors Chemistry, World History, and Spanish. My school work, volunteering, and volleyball requires me to plan and stay organized. These are traits I do well.
I have a special interest in art and have taken art classes in and out of school since I attended pre-kindergarten. I have learned that God has given me this amazing ability to bless others with art. I have made various art pieces and people marvel at my creative talent. Someday I hope to incorporate my artistic abilities into a cause that can bring joy to the elderly population.
Thank you for your interest in me – I will always give you more than a 100% in everything I do.
Sincerely
Ashley
