Personal Statement
It has always been my dream to play volleyball in college. Since I started playing volleyball at Westminster Christian School in 6th grade, I have kept that goal in the back of my mind. I believe through hard work and faith, all things are possible. I have worked as a leader in my school and club teams and always try to lead by example. I arrive to practice early and help put the nets up. I also do extra work as a defensive specialist as well as outside hitter. In addition to working hard at the sport I love, I also maintain leadership roles in my school Honors Chamber Orchestra where I play the violin and lead our club to play at hospitals and retirement homes. In addition, I am the Ambassador for His House, a Christian home for at-risk children where I have raised funds to host holiday parties and bring the children gifts. This experience has moved and touched me as no other as I realize how many children are living without a loving family to call their own. I believe giving back to the community and sharing any talent God has given us can only be for the best. As an athlete, I believe I have what it takes to be a team player who holds academics as well as athletics in high regard. If I were chosen to play for your school, I would work hard on and off the court, to make the team and our school community proud.
