Personal Statement
I started playing volleyball at the age of 9 when I was first exposed to volleyball at a camp. Ever since that day, I knew I had found my passion. While I was playing a lot of different sports at the time, volleyball quickly became my favorite. When it came time to choose either travel softball or travel volleyball, the choice was easy.
I work on volleyball almost every day, whether it is with my team, a private lesson, working with an athletic trainer or playing at the beach. I have been trained in all the positions, but I have specialized as an outside hitter. I have played wherever my coaches have needed me, whether it is hitting from either pin, back row or I even set for my middle school team. I am working hard to be a 6-rotation player and have been a starting 6-rotation OH for my varsity team the last three years. In 2018 my club team won the USAV National Championship in Detroit. In 2019 we qualified for Nationals at the open level and won the AAU Premier division National Championship. In 2021 we qualified for USAV Nationals after winning the Florida Region Championship.
Academics have always been important to me. For high school I attend Suncoast High School, ranked number 11 school in Florida, in their Math, Science and Engineering program and have taken 16 AP or dual enrollment courses through my junior year. I am hoping to attend college at a school with high academic standards to continue my education.
I want to play volleyball in college because I love the sport and love being part of a team. I want to play at the highest level and get an education that prepares me for a career after college.
