I started playing volleyball when I was 9 years old. I was first exposed to volleyball at a camp. Ever since the day I started playing volleyball I knew I had found my passion. I started playing on a not so competitive team, but as I played more I knew volleyball was something I wanted to do in my future. I played up an age group for 2 years until I finally decided it was better to play with my age group. While I continued to play multiple sports in middle school including basketball, softball, track and volleyball I had to decide to only play travel volleyball outside of school. I also play beach volleyball when I don’t have indoor. I have worked over the years to become better at volleyball and play at a competitive club.
I work on volleyball almost every day, whether it’s with my team, a private lesson or training on my own. I have been trained to play in any position but I have specialized in outside hitter and defensive specialist. I have played wherever my coaches have needed me, whether that’s hitting from either pin, back row and I even set for my middle school team. I have worked hard to become a 6 rotation player. Last year my club team won the USAV National Championship in Detroit. This year we qualified for Nationals at the open level.
Academics have always been important to me. This year I tied for highest GPA of my class. I have already completed 4 high school credit classes in middle school. This year I am attending Suncoast High School, ranked number 11 in Florida, in their Math, Science and Engineering program. I want to play volleyball in college because I enjoy playing volleyball and I want to play at the highest level and get a good education to prepare me for a career after volleyball.
