Katarina McCall '21 Recruiting Profile

The crowds are cheering, the pressure is building, its time to make a quick strategic decision and communicate with my teammates while pivoting and always being in ready position! Throughout my years of playing club volleyball, coaches have called me “coachable”.  I never fully understood what that meant until this year of club season. Presenting my best self at practice, and during the game is so important! Coaching is mentoring and teaching and playing involves acceptance of constructive criticism to shape my challenges into active strengthening!

Many pieces of the volleyball game and skills obtained from team work can be applied in the classroom. I am a very dedicated on and off the court.  For me, working toward success on the court is a pathway to accomplishing my future goals both athletically and educationally. My dream is to be part of a team in college where I can grow as a person and represent your college proudly. Ultimately playing college volleyball will open doors to an amazing future.

So why choose me as a member of your team? That’s a difficult question as so many awesome people will apply. I am requesting that you invest in my future by allowing me to be part of your team. With that request comes great responsibility and self reflection. It is my hope you will consider me as the next member of your volleyball family. I am proud of my honesty, integrity, and willingness to learn. I believe I can make an impact both athletically and academically. Volleyball has shaped me into the person I am today. It is more than a game, it is my happy place and I look forward to hearing from you with an opportunity to speak with you in person and share my strengths and discuss moldable challenges with your future coaching!
