Personal Statement
I am a dual-enrollment student currently, so my AA degree should be almost completed by the time I graduate next May. My collegiate goals are to complete a BA in Music Performance or Worship Ministry. I would also like to try an be apart of the Honors College of the school I attend. I am a good candidate for your team because I have a very friendly personality and get along with all of my teammates. While I am a setter, I can also play Libero and I am very aggressive in either position. I have been training for a long time with local clubs and college coaches to better myself. I am different in character because instead of getting angry at a teammate when they make a mistake, I encourage them instead. I do not like my teammates to “beat themselves up” about missing a ball or hitting it incorrectly. While volleyball is a game with rules that we must follow, I believe that my teammates should also make sure they are enjoying the game. I am different in athletics because I have been trained in nearly every sport. Volleyball has been my passion since elementary school and in the midst of trying other sports, I have always come back to volleyball. I am an aggressive player and can fulfill the setter, or libero, position very well. Since my freshman year, I have been the starting setter for my schools Varsity team and in my senior year, I will also be the captain. As said before, I am not just a high school student, I am also a dual-enrollment student. I take a full load of college classes as well as my high school schedule. I have very good grades and my GPA reflects that. Volleyball is my time to have fun and not think about my studies. I manage being a student-athlete very well during season and I do not let either commitment become less than my best.
