Personal Statement
I started playing volleyball just 3 years ago, and I've loved every second of it. I went from not being able to serve underhand to jump serving in just a little over a year. I love being part of a team, and I do my best to be a great leader on and off the court. I love playing in games, but I enjoy practice just as much.
One of my greatest volleyball moments was being named captain of my club team this year. I was so excited to have the responsibility of being a captain, and I was thrilled to be recognized by my wonderful coaches and teammates. I feel like being a captain helped me grow tremendously this year because I had to make sure I was always doing what was best for the team and setting a great example. I was also very proud to win the Steel Award this season, which is given to the player that best exemplifies the core values of the club (strength, determination, toughness). Another great moment for me was when I was given the Bailey Rhodes award on my middle school team. It is an award given to the player who displays the most courage and dedication. That same year I was also given the hustle award for my club.
I feel I will be a great addition to your team because I am very coachable. I pride myself in being able to take direction and apply it on the court. I will bring a high level of energy and enthusiasm to both practices and games. I will do whatever it takes to help the team. I believe I am just scratching the surface of how good of a player I am going to be, and I will continue to work hard every day to reach my potential.
