Personal Statement
My goal is to play competitive college volleyball at a University where I can also work to achieve my aspirations to become a doctor. Volleyball is an essential part of it all because it is what helps to push me to be the best I can be. It takes hard work, dedication and passion and these are the things that I also need to become a successful General Surgeon. I know that having the opportunity to play volleyball in college is the opportunity of a lifetime and I am excited to get to that point in my life journey.
I am an outside hitter/blocker with the ability to play right side as well for both my club team as well as my high school team. I was fortunate to have made the varsity volleyball team in my freshman year of high school. I am extremely passionate about the game of volleyball and I give all I have on the court. I take private lessons weekly to further develop my skills to become better at the sport I love playing. I am a coachable player and take constructive criticism very well. I use that to help me strengthen any weaknesses I may have and learn from my mistakes.
My parents had me playing sports (basketball and softball) since I was 8 years old and instilled in me the importance of teamwork and being in control of myself, my actions and my future. I was introduced to the game of volleyball when I moved to Georgia and it has been the sport that I have grown to love the most. I have played club volleyball for the past 5 years and have learned that it takes dedication, hard work, determination and passion to get to the next level. I believe that I would be a great asset to any University and look forward to that opportunity.
