Personal Statement
I am a 16 year old libero at Carrollton High School, currently a junior. Last year, I playedWest Georgia Frenzy for club through SRVA- we play in the 16s division- either 16 power or 17 club/power. This year I will play with Tsunami GA on the 17-Jason team. So far, I've been a 3 time Team Captain and this past high school season, was honored as All Region Team 1 Libero. At this point, I'm open to all possibilities for college- near/far, big/small. I've learned so much these past seasons and grown with my team, that I want to be able to take that experience with me and continue in college. I happily spend over 20 hours a week in practice/play and you won't find me often at home without a ball in my hands. I'm the one who asks to stay after every practice for pit drill...considering my coach is 6'9" and played at UCLA and professionally in Portugal, I can take a hit with the best of them! Don't let my 5'4" stats fool you...I use every inch to sprawl across the floor for that seemingly impossible up! I thrive off the energy of the competition- quickly being labeled as 'clutch' my freshman year as Coach knew she could count on me when the stress was on.
Outside of volleyball, I live with my parents and 2 brothers. My youngest brother has special needs and I try to spend time engaging with him- he's become our team mascot as he puts a smile on everyone's face. My family is hugely supportive of my goal to play volleyball in college and I want to carry that on to the next level. I plan to take all that I learn in team sports and apply it to my future career as an attorney.
