Personal Statement
My name is Rachel Matthews. Ever since I was 12 years old I have dreamed of playing volleyball in a collegiate level. On account of my school being so small, in both number of attendance and in popularity, none of our alumni have continued to play volleyball in college; it is my main goal to become the first to do so. I am a very hard worker and will strive to do my best whether it's on the court or off the court. Because of some of the hardships I have faced in my life, I have a greater appreciation and undying respect for the people around me and those who are placed above me in authority. I am an all around player, but my strengths are on the front row. I have been trained and conditioned for both setting and hitting. I have not yet reached my highest level of skill, but I will work harder than ever to do so. Out of my senior class of four students, I am at the top of my class with a GPA of 4.0. I will strive to continue to keep my grades high and will be determined to always try to improve my scores.
