My name is Kayla Hill I fell in love with the sport when I attended a high school volleyball game with my father and knew that this was the sport that I wanted to play. I have been involved with sports since I was 4 years old. I was a youth recreational cheerleader for 1 year and transitioned to competitive cheerleading for 4 years. I also played soccer for 2 years. Although I participated in various sporting activities growing up, I found my true passion in volleyball.
I started at the middle school level during my 7th grade year and was determined to earn an opportunity to make the team. I felt that my willingness to learn and grow as a player would eventually help me to ascend towards my desired goal, but most importantly I wanted to help make my team better by being an awesome teammate. Since this was my focus, I made the team and committed myself to acquiring as much additional training that I could take, while maintaining good grades. At the end of our middle school season, the high school coach suggested that I try out for the club that I was receiving training at for the upcoming 2018 club season.
I made the 13-1 national level team for A5 and had the pleasure of working with top quality coaches. I played the setter position in middle school and I was fortunate to have been coached by one of the greatest setters in NCAA Division history, Michelle Jaworski who played at Penn State University. I was able to soak up the valuable coaching, mentoring and training from coach MJ who also taught me how to approach the game from an aspiring collegiate perspective. I am committed to growing and developing and feel that my professional demeanor, passion, willingness to make others better, and determination will help a school at the collegiate level.
I have been trained to be a six rotational player and will be an excellent addition to the school that desires my skills and strong academic record. I am an extremely humble individual who works very hard in the classroom and on the court. I take that same energy and try to use it to energize my team. Although I am in the 8th grade now, I know that I have a lot to learn about the sport. I have been practicing with the high school varsity team during the off season to help me prepare for this season and the upcoming 2019-2020 club season at A5. Playing volleyball at the collegiate level is the ultimate goal in which I want to attain.
