Personal Statement
My name is Alayna Smallwood. I am a Junior at First Presbyterian Day School located in Macon, Georgia and volleyball has been a passion of mine for 6 years. I find strength and joy in this sport and often pursue opportunities to recruit teammates to share in the passion I have for volleyball. I currently play volleyball all year, enjoying high school and travel ball. I was selected to play with our varsity team as a Middle Blocker in 9th grade. I was nominated as Varsity Team Captain my Junior year and helped lead our team to the first Regional Championship in the history of volleyball at our high school. I have competed in several travel clubs allowing me to expand my role and versatility on the team. I am currently able to play Middle Blocker, Outside Hitter, and Right Side. I have made All Region and was most recently nominated by my coach with a distinct award given to 1 student each year for their sportsmanship, leadership, work ethic and reliability on the team. I aspire to have an opportunity to play volleyball in college, continuing to pursue my passion for the game while achieving my academic goals.
