Maura Fischer '19 Recruiting Profile

My name is Maura Fischer and I am a Junior at Mount Bethel Christian Academy in Marietta, Ga. 

I have been playing high level volleyball for six years both for my high school and at a club level. As a setter I have been able to excel in a leadership role both on and off the court for all teams I played for. My accomplishments include being nominated to the all-state, all-region, and all-star teams as well as all-Tournament teams. I helped lead my team to a state runner up title and I leave every game knowing I left everything on the court. I am dedicated and willing to put forth the extra effort in any and all situations I am put into. This summer I play beach volleyball for one of the top ranked beach programs in Georgia. I use beach as a way to develop and grow in both my hitting and passing skills and last year I earned a bid to the beach nationals in Siesta Key.

I am a hard worker and my passion for the game shows in the way I play and the effort I put forth.

My effort goes not only towards growing in my volleyball skills but also towards growing academically. I challenge myself in the classroom by taking honors and AP courses and have maintained a 3.9 GPA throughout the past years of high school. I scored a 26 on my ACT and plan on studying more and increasing my score. I have received awards in academics such as the being on the honor role and a receiving a literary achievement award.
