Personal Statement
Hello!
My name is Noa Torio and I'm a 5'2" L/DS from Mililani, Hawai'i. I play for Hana Hou Volleyball Club 17/18's coached by Jarrett Fujita. Also, I will be starting my senior year at Mililani High School. I have been playing volleyball for seven years, and I intend to continue my athletic career at the collegiate level after high school.
In school, I have maintained a 3.8 GPA. Education is remarkably important to me and I only expect the best from myself, whether it be in the classroom or the volleyball court. While being in my third year of high school, I have soaked in every piece of advice from my coaches, teachers, and many others that will help me fulfill some of my greatest ambitions in college as an athlete and student. As a volleyball player, I enjoy the intense, high-level excitement that the sport brings. In addition to that, I am an athlete who is very controlled of my emotions. I never let frustration or negativity affect my performance because I always aim to contribute in the best way possible for my team. Over the years, I developed a strong ability to play different positions, but mostly trained strictly as a L/DS. Because of that, I would say I am extremely well-rounded because there are situations where those extra skills come in handy.
After high school, I aspire to compete at the next level and extend my journey of playing volleyball. It would be a great honor and achievement of mine to play and become a part of a collegiate women's volleyball team in 2020. I would like to earn a bachelor's degree in the field of Animation (Visual Effects) or Visual Communications as preparation to work at Walt Disney Animation Studios or Pixar because I greatly admire the world of film and even making characters come to life! Nevertheless, I am extremely determined to accomplish my goal of becoming a student-athlete.
Thank you!
Noa Torio
