My name is Kaylen Hay and I‘m currently a dual sport 2024 athlete (volleyball and basketball) at Highland High school in Pocatello, Idaho. I finished this year 2nd in the state of Idaho during the regular season in kills at 363. I also made First Team All Conference as OH. I’m very coachable and able to play multiples position. I also have an excellent court IQ . One thing that sets me apart from other hitters is I am able to hit and get kills with my left hand. I am ambidextrous!!! It comes in quite handy when hitting over the block.
I have played basketball since the 4th grade and volleyball since the 7th grade on both school and club teams. After the first season, I absolutely fell in love with the sport and have been playing ever since.
When I am not playing volleyball or basketball, in the winter I love downhill skiing and in the summer, I love boating with friends and family. I am also a bookworm and love star gazing.
I am blessed to have an amazing support system in my family. My parents, little sister and grandparents rarely miss a game and are my biggest fans.
I am a highly competitive athlete and give 110% on the court each game. I pride myself in controlling my emotions on the court and I channel my emotions and energy into giving my all and leaving everything on the court.
I can’t imagine my life not playing volleyball, I have learned so many valuable life skills since competing in athletics… hard work pays off, discipline, camaraderie, and accepting responsibility and constructive criticism only makes you better. I look forward to continuing my athletic career at the next level.
