Personal Statement
My name is Brooke Conlan, a junior at Marist High School in Chicago. I currently play both middle and pin on my club team, Michio Chicago Volleyball Academy, and on my high school varsity team.
I have been playing volleyball since I was 8 years old. Since I first stepped on the volleyball court, I have dreamed about playing at the collegiate level. I know that playing college volleyball is an opportunity that will allow me to receive a great education while continuing to do what I love on the court.
Over the past year I have worked to become a stronger player both mentally and physically. I have learned and grown as a player, teammate, and leader. My club team has made it to the national tournament every year for the past 5 years while my school team went undefeated in our conference last season and went on to win Regionals.
My academics are extremely important to me and I work hard to succeed in my school environment. I have maintained my grade point average (4.18) throughout my high school career. I have been inducted into both the National Honor Society and the Italian Honor Society. I also volunteer at a local boarding school for at-risk youth and coach youth volleyball for my club.
I am excited about the next step in my volleyball journey and looking forward to finding the right academic fit.
