At school, I am a very focused student. Because I take pride in my grades, I strive to do well and put all my effort into every assignment. To achieve my goals, I do my absolute best to make sure that I plan my day to make time for all of my assignments as well as my at home tasks. In addition, I excel at time management and always get everything done ahead of schedule.
Outside of school, I enjoy giving back to my community, so I volunteer wherever and whenever I can. After not one but two tornadoes struck my town, I worked at one of the churches to provide families comfort and a place to go to for help. I also volunteered at an animal shelter and cared for sick and abandoned animals. I try to help anyone and everyone that I can in any way that I can because I find joy in helping others. In addition to that, I have a few summer jobs that include caring for an elderly woman with dementia, babysitting children, and being an office aid and personal assistant for R&R Transport. With all of this going on every year, I have to make sure that I am very organized and sticking to my schedule.
When it comes to volleyball, I am a very versatile player who just wants to play. I will play any position if the opportunity is given to me just to be on the court. For example, in the middle of a game I had to switch from middle to outside due to an unexpected injury. I was very successful in this due to my versatility and knowledge of the game. I am a team leader and a supportive player. I stay positive during games and pick up my teammates when they are down. I also try to help my teammates fix any problems that they are having and give them advice on how to fix those problems. I make sure to always give 110% in every play and make sure that I can go home at the end of the day saying that I left all I had on the court. I play for the Coal City High School Varsity team as well as on the Junior National Volleyball Team and on the Player’s Choice club team. I also do a lot of summer volleyball including weight lifting, open gym, camps and tournaments. In addition to all of that, I am involved in assistant coaching the 7th grade volleyball team.
