Personal Statement
I've been passionate about volleyball and have always wanted to be a college athlete. I grew up surrounded by them and have been inspired by them for as long as I can remember. I would love to be able to pursue academics and play volleyball at a higher level. I'm a strong student and enjoy taking classes that push my knowledge. I am looking for a college or university who can help me achieve my dreams academically and athletically.
On the volleyball court, I am a vocal leader and always encourage my teammates no matter the circumstances. I love playing the game and always have. I'm a middle hitter for my varsity team but enjoy being given new challenges and different opportunities at new positions. Before I moved towns, I used to work with a 4th-6th grade program in Macomb to help them see why I love the game as much as I do. I am known for my vocal communication and desire to win. I have learned to control my nerves when the game is on the line and my team is relying on me. I have a will to win and always have. From trying to beat my brother in football as well as playing other sports such as basketball, I always have the drive to win.
Academically, I would like to attend a college that tests my limits as a student and can help me grow as a person. I have not yet figured out what I want my major to be since I am still learning what I love to do. I am open to schools in any area that can test me as a player and student. However, with Covid-19 life has switched around a little bit. Illinois is currently not allowing us to play, but I have been practicing with my club. It was pretty difficult having to go months without doing what I love, but I am grateful that I am now getting opportunities to get back into doing what I love to do.
