Personal Statement
Hi! My name is Taylor Quandt and I'm from Effingham, IL, also known as the Cross Roads of America. My town is where I-70 and I-57 meet. I'm guessing many of you have driven through a time or two. My goals consist of going to a great college to study music and art therapy. I really like to help people with struggles and do everything I can to help them through those. Watching people grow and get better is very heartwarming to me.
No matter what task it is, I will complete it with my best ability. Once I have my eye on something, I will do my very best and give great effort to achieve it. My coach always tells my team, "if you try to do something, you could fail, but by giving your best effort, it's like you've already won. Imagine this, if you try to pass the ball, you could let it drop right in front of you and say that you 'tried'. If you give your best effort to pass the ball, then you did everything you could to pass that ball." I thought it was very inspirational. Another thing that I will never forget is when I was in sixth grade playing in Wisconsin Dells. We had our last club tournament there and my Mom told me to do my best and to leave myself on the court. I wouldn't be where I am today without my Mom.
What makes me different from others is that I always look for the good in people and encourage them to do well. I would like to say I'm a leader out on the court. Even when I'm having an off day, I still encourage my team to do their best. My academics are also very important to me. I have learned to work hard for my grades. They don't come easy. If the grades aren't there, neither is the court.
This is a little insight about me and my thoughts, so if you're reading this, thank you so much for checking me out!
