Growing up, we moved 6 times in 6 years. It taught me how to adjust to new atmospheres and how important perseverance is. Starting at a new school every year was definitely challenging, but I became very independent because of it. Volleyball was an immediate love for me because it took my mind off of everything I worried about and I could just focus on that. It has taught me how to work in a team to achieve a goal, as I can not just depend on myself and play as an independent. It has also taught me how to stay determined and how to work towards my personal goals.
I believe I am a good candidate for any team because I play for the cause. I work extremely well with others and any sort of bias or negativity goes away when I play. I trust my teammates and my coaches to lead us to our destined victory. I am very energetic on court and am constantly trying to improve my skill base. I refuse to get complacent in my position and I feel like that gives me an edge in competing for court time. My biggest obstacle so far has been myself. I will always see room for improvement within myself, on the court and in class. I see that as a good thing because I'm constantly evolving, learning, and pushing myself to do bigger and better things.
