Personal Statement
It all started in the 7th grade when I tried out for the school volleyball team not knowing what to expect. I immediately fell in love with the sport and decided that I wanted to compete in a more competitive atmosphere. I started playing club volleyball at Uno. I was the starting setter during my 8th-grade team that finished 2nd at state. A few years later I was recruited to join Club 1 and given the opportunity to play on their top team Consistently strategizing and calling the plays to make while playing on the court with teammates is something I really enjoy. I believe that playing multiple sports also helped me become the athlete I am today. All those sports I've played have taught me to be a great team player as well as to be a leader. My optimism and my drive are my greatest attributes and I always stay positive and focused on the court and in the classroom.
I genuinely value my family as they have always supported me and helped me through my academic and athletic journey. Although I feel my academics are very strong, with a 4.4 GPA, I come from a athletic family who has a high level of competitiveness. I grew up around sports. There are high expectations for me because I am the oldest of my siblings and I use those expectations as my motivation. With that, my ideal college would be a place where I find my second family, teachers who will challenge me, and teammates to share wins, losses, and life with. I look forward to taking the next steps in pursuing my dream of high academics and competitive volleyball.
