- 2023 Highlights
Personal Statement
My name is Georgia Von Lehmden. I first started playing volleyball at the age of seven and have loved the game ever since. In fact, I progressed through that same club - Sports Performance Volleyball in Aurora, Il - where I still play today. For the 2023 Club Season, I am the starting Right Side for 16-CFED. We have gone two for two in tournament championships so far! I’m also a Sophomore at Naperville Central High School where I am a starting for the varsity girls volleyball team in the Right Side position.
A personal goal is to play women's volleyball at the D1 level, and contribute to a program and team that loves the game as much as I do. As for my future career, I am exploring a degree in psychology and/or pediatrics. I want to find a way to help people - especially kids. I'm currently taking a semester on Early Childhood - and I can see I am making a great choice for my future.
When I served as a co-captain of my 15s club team this past year, I learned something else about myself. I learned I'm at my best when I support others to be their best. If someone is having an off day, I'll spend time with them to really understand them, lift them up as much as I can. I am also energized by the thrill of winning as a team and doing all I can to get us to that win. I show up with my full self - as a player and a person when I hit the court.
Fun fact. Many people would be interested to know that I have a twin sister, Piper, who dances for our high school varsity team. I mention her because we are always brainstorming and talking through our challenges. It's nice to have someone going through the same things at the same time.
