Personal Statement
My name is Emma Ronaldson. I'm 17 years old and a Junior at Lincoln-Way West High School in New Lenox, Illinois. I have always been very athletic and involved in sports like soccer, softball, track, and cross country. I was a dancer since I was three but have decided to focus all my attention on volleyball after my freshman year. Volleyball has always been a sport that I have loved and been excited for. I started playing volleyball in 6th grade at school and started club my 8th grade year. I'm so glad that I signed up for club because I love playing tournaments and having the opportunity to play all the time. When I was a freshman, I made JV and was an outside starter who played the full rotation as a defensive specialist and continued that amount of playing my Sophomore year. Junior year I continued that full rotation starting role on the Varsity team.
As for my education, I have been keeping up with my grades and high honor roll throughout H.S. When I look into colleges, I look for colleges that have an Athletic Training program which is why I'm involved in my school's Athletic Training Club Program. When it comes to my character, I see myself as someone who stays calm during a match. Towards my teammates, I'm someone who encourages or helps out in a more 1 on 1 way. When my teammate is doing really well, I always like to celebrate with them after a play, and if struggling, will encourage them for the next play. For my college goals as a volleyball player, I would love to play at a high level but also support the team were my skills can benefit the team the most, whether that be as an outside hitter or a defensive specialist/libero.
I hope you have enjoyed reading and learning more about me, and I look forward to hearing from you soon!
