- 2022 Highlights
Personal Statement
My name is Kaylee Plohr and I am a 5'9" setter and opposite hitter from Rock Island, Illinois. My volleyball journey began when I was 8 years old, about 7 years ago. I also have experience playing as a defensive specialist and a middle hitter. As a teammate my strengths are: training whenever an opportunity arises, communication on and off the court, leading my team, being supportive when a teammate is down, and always being the hardest worker in the room. As a player, I have come to acknowledge that my growth areas are reacting quickly enough to make the smartest play and maintaining my solid footwork during a volley. While I know that admitting my growth areas may not be an impressive trait, I do believe holding myself accountable to what I need to get better at makes me a better volleyball player. Understanding that constructive criticism is not personal but to benefit my skills, is what makes me different than most volleyball players.
When it comes to academics, I currently maintain a 4.0 GPA, and it is my goal to continue to maintain that average throughout my four years of high school. I prioritize my education, and understand that it is important. As a student, I am punctual, work in groups well, and can confront others if needed. I only turn work in once I believe that is my best. In the future, I plan to attend a four year university with aspirations of playing volleyball. I am thinking about working with animals or going into criminology.
