Personal Statement
In 2003 I was exposed to my first form of sports, competitive gymnastics. I learned many things through the next ten years doing the sport of gymnastics. I loved it! Two of the most important qualities I learned, were being a coachable athlete/student and how to be a good teammate/classmate. Along with this qualities I learned time management, dedication and determination. When I turned 12 years old I chose to give up all those hours and years of training to try volleyball. I fell in love with the sport and eventhough I may have started it a little later than most I was able to pick it up quickly. I worked really hard and went from playing here and there during 7th grade to starting in 8th grade. I was then one of only two freshman that started JV my freshman year. I am very humbled by my opportunities and understand I am not the best volleyball player who has ever lived, but I have worked hard and developed into a very well rounded athlete and student. I wish I was about 6-8inches taller, it would make the recruiting process a little easier. Unfortunately 5'5" is the height God has chosen to bless me with and I make do. I have been told many times I could jump out of the gym. This helps with the height a little, but wish I had both. However this continues to make me work even harder. Wherever my life takes me I will continue to work hard, college in my near future and a workplace in my distant future.
