My interest in sports began at an early age beginning with girls’ softball. At the age of 11, my interest in volleyball became my primary sports focus. As a junior high student I played back row and received limited playing time. This instilled a competitive drive and motivation to work hard to earn a much desired position of Right Side Hitter. As a freshman in HS, I was on the Varsity Volleyball Roster, however I grew the most as a student athlete my sophomore year. I was part of an enthusiastic hard working team with talented coaches that instilled teamwork, hard work and commitment no matter the score. During my HS years, I have played multiple sports to include Volleyball, Basketball, and Tennis. During which time I received MVP for Tennis, “Hard Nose” Player award in Basketball, and Best Blocker in Volleyball. As a junior I joined a Travel Volleyball Team and upon my first tryout I qualified and was offered a position as an OH on the roster for U 18. As I go forward with my goal to play for a college team, I have learned the value of teamwork, commitment, sacrifice, and leadership. I continue to strive to be an effective communicator and exhibit leadership skills for myself and my team. I have often been nicknamed the “spark-plug” and the “game changer” of the team.
I would be grateful for the opportunity to become part of a program that will satisfy my athletic and academic goals. I value the educational aspect of the student-athlete experience as much as the athletic experience. I believe I am a teachable student-athlete with the talents, work-ethic, character, and leadership abilities necessary to compete for a college team and make a positive impact on your program. As a multi-sport athlete I have the ability to be a strong influence and leader on your team.
