Hi, my name is Yolaine Luthi and for the longest time, one of my biggest goals in life has been to play college ball. I am a three sport athlete and have competed in volleyball, basketball, and track since my seventh grade year. All throughout junior high and up to now, I have been part of my varsity teams. My role as a varsity starter is to play my hardest at all times, take time outside of practice to get better, be the leader that I am, encourage my other teammates, have an on going positive attitude, and respect everyone around. I am known as the girl who everyone can count on, whether that is on the court, in class or outside of school. I think one of my best skills as an athlete, is having so much respect for my coaches, team and audience. I also listen well, receiving advice and then putting all of it into practice to perform better. Competing in volleyball at a college level would be a goal that I achieved knowing that it wasn't just handed to me.
After I receive my high school diploma, I dream to become a business women. I have hopes of going to college and owning my own art store or becoming a graphic designer in the future. As part of my academic achievements, I have always maintained a 4.0 GPA all throughout my high school career. I am involved in so many leadership roles, a few of those including, a National Honor Society member, class secretary, and a Student Council representative. A couple fun facts about me are, you'll always see me laughing. It is very rare to see me without a smile on my face. Second, I don't think I have ever met someone for the first time who can pronounce my name correctly. Last, I was actually born in Haiti and came to the United States when I was adopted at the age of six years old.
I want to attend a college where I can meet amazing people and have some of the best experiences in my life. My eyes are open to all options and I ultimately want to find the right college that I will not only play for and represent, but just grow as a person through all the opportunities.
