Personal Statement
I became interested in volleyball in my 6th-grade year watching the competitive girls play at college level. Before volleyball, I was a competitive dancer and have always had the drive to win. In recent years I have noticed how much attitude and effort come into any sport and applying those two could be the difference between winning and losing. I lead the people around me into a winning atmosphere with my cheerful attitude and let my energy feed into everyone.
The overwhelming obstacle of my height at first drove me crazy that I could not be a hitter. But over time, it pushed me into working harder to achieve my goals. My goal is to become the best of my ability and to achieve my goal, I plan to be as coachable as possible. As team captain, I communicate very well resulting in very little drama within any team. I have a variety of skills outside of volleyball such as; dancing, singing, piano, guitar, ukulele and drawing. I like to apply my creativity from those skills into volleyball when stuck in harsh situations creating a fun, relaxed, but competitive atmosphere.
