Personal Statement
Ever since I started playing recreational volleyball in the third grade, I’ve been hooked, and when I continued on and started playing club in the fifth grade, my mind was made up; I had found what I wanted to do with my life. Volleyball has always been a top priority in my life, and I have learned a lot from it. Through seasons and seasons of working hard to prove my skill to skeptical coaches, and playing diverse positions where I was needed, it helped me learn how to never give up and never lose my positivity and determination, while being accepting to rapid change and coping with the unfamiliarity. Other than this, my toughest point in my volleyball career was when I didn’t make a team for my high school during my sophomore year. This taught me more than anything to keep up a good work ethic, and to keep fighting to improve my talent, and resulted in one of my best club seasons that winter. Outside of volleyball, I have a love for school. I love learning and am always enthusiastic to be in the classroom. When I’m not playing, I’m usually doing my homework or studying, and with those three, it doesn’t give me much time for anything else. However, when I do have free time I love to hang out with my family and friends or grab a good book to read off the shelf. I am very excited to progress to a college level of playing and am anxious to see what the future can bring!
