Personal Statement
As a kid, I grew up playing club soccer throughout all of elementary school. However, I was introduced to volleyball in the fifth grade and fell in love with the game. From then on, I have played volleyball for both school and club teams each year. Over the years, I have grown from playing on third-string regional teams to playing for national teams at Lexington United Volleyball (LUV). From the sport, I have learned the value of consistent communication and discipline. I have also built a strong work ethic, which has become part of my daily life on and off the court.
When considering my academic career, I hope to major in biology or premed, seeing as I aspire to go to medical school after college and pursue a career in the medical field. I have always found neurology fascinating and even from a young age I have thoroughly enjoyed science and math classes and performed well in them. Beyond academics, I actively volunteer for community service projects through my church. This is something that I truly value. From growing in my skill level in volleyball, I have learned that I am capable of more than I originally thought I was. Because of this, I am determined to perform at my best both academically and athletically. I would love to continue to grow in my love for the sport at the collegiate level and hope to be a part of a team that feels like family.
