The things that set me apart on the court and in the classroom are my competitiveness, determination, drive and leadership.
I have been playing club volleyball since I was 9 years old. Even at a young age I have always been extremely competitive, and the court was the perfect place to let that side run free. College level is something I’ve been looking forward to for a very long time now. I realize how much competition there is, and I am ready to take that challenge on.
The things that make me a good friend and teammate are my compassion, sense of humor, easygoing attitude, willingness to work with others and ability to laugh at myself. As an athlete, I am known for my hustle, quickness, heart and being a good teammate. Definitely, not my height but I make up for it. I am probably over-competitive, but I blame that on my twin sister, Ella.
My volleyball credentials:
- Been playing club volleyball for MAVA, one of Louisville’s premier clubs, since I was nine years old.
- My 7th grade year, my JV and Varsity middle school teams went undefeated for the season and in tournament play, I played on both.
- Have played three seasons of sand volleyball as well as refereed at King Louie’s, here in Louisville.
- I have played on Eastern High School’s JV and Varsity teams since my Sophomore year.
As a student, I am constantly competing with my twin, just like in volleyball. I stay focused in class, and study hard. I keep a high GPA and scored well on my PSAT. My twin and I volunteer at Friend’s School, a school that has a mix of children with needs and typically developing children. I Volunteer for Star Duck Charities, helping raise funds for St. Joseph’s Children’s Home in Louisville, have marched in the Pride Parade for two consecutive years, and have co-authored a children’s book with my family, Carma’s Tail: Diary of a Homeless Albino Pit Bull and contributed to “The Misphits: Story of Snake”. I am also in National Honors Society.
Thank you for taking the time to read my profile. I am hoping to play at a Division 2 or 3 college that can help me grow as a human being and challenge me both academically and athletically. I am open to any school that wants me and appreciate your consideration.
