Katelyn Kurtsinger '23 Recruiting Profile

I knew from age five I found my passion once I stepped foot on the volleyball court. Even though when I began, I couldn't serve the ball over the net, I knew this is where I wanted to be, but  now I have one of the best serves on my team. Each year I grew to where I am today. During my 12 year old season, I realize that I wanted to push myself to get stronger so I can play college. I give my all each and every time I go on the court.  Speaking of being on the court, my favorite position I've played is libreo. I enjoy this position because I am a strong defensive player. I am able to get to many near impossible balls. I am also one of the loudest people on my team, I believe that you play best when you have someone in your corner encouraging you . I want to be that person who lifts up my teammates. I believe that since I have an optimistic personality, I am a coachable player. I listen to my coaches, teammates, and peers tips and run with them. I am receptive to criticism and will adjust to my coaches, teammates, peers suggestions.  Off the court, I am a very determined student. I have a 3.6 GPA while taking advanced, AP, and honors classes. I have also played volleyball for the past four years at my high school. I believe that a good education will take you far in life. I want a college that will help me in my life goal to become an ophthalmologist. I am looking for a college that is the highest level possible that will challenge me both on and off the court. I strive to become a strong role model to all, an accomplished students, and solid athlete.
