Personal Statement
I am described as a dedicated, hard working, leader. My dedication is reflected in the number of years I’ve played volleyball. I began playing in 2nd grade and have played every year since. From a young age I got to tag along with my older sister and and got the unique opportunity to watch and learn from older players. Early on I played basketball, cheered, played soccer and archery but I loved volleyball.
On the court, I am very hard working and constantly striving to make myself better and bring those skills to my team. I have played year around for the past 3 years as a setter, outside, right and middle hitter. I have played all 6 rotations for 3 years. Year around volleyball requires me to play with different players and coaches. It has taught me to be a team player and the value and benefits of working together. Winning requires everyone being all in and I’m all in. I also workout 3 days a week with a personal trainer to ensure I remain strong and in the best physical shape for those on my team who depend on me.
Volleyball is important to me and my horses are too. I have been riding and showing since I was 8. I am a horse girl. I have 4 horses that I ride 5 days per week and train them on my own. I am an advanced rider and also show other peoples horses. I have won 11 International Grand Championships. It is my love for horses that makes me want to be a Veterinarian. I plan to major in pre-veterinary studies in college. After college I plan to go to veterinary school and become a equine veterinarian.
