Personal Statement
I have been participating in sports for four years now. I play volleyball, run track, and cross country. Running cross country taught me how to step outside my comfort zone. During middle school, I was always afraid of trying something new because I thought the other students would make fun of me if I messed up, so I never tried anything. Playing in high school made me overcome my fears, then my athleticism became better and I did great without having to worry. Aside from my fears, my teammates helped me become better, also. They encouraged me to try harder and not give up. A team needs communication and cooperation in order to succeed, so with that our friendships also grew stronger. Without sports, my life would be dull, my friendships wouldn't be as strong, and I would have missed out on the feeling of how exciting they can be.
