Personal Statement
I am a 6’0”, 16-year-old, junior middle blocker at Metairie Park Country Day and play club volleyball with Nola VBC 17-1's Jesse. My goal is to be a top-level volleyball student athlete at a major college or university. To achieve this goal, I will continue to challenge myself daily, and push myself outside of my comfort zone. This goal will not come without sacrifice, commitment, and dedication. Qualities that I display daily as I push myself academically and athletically.
I believe in the importance of working to excel both on the court and in the classroom. I have a 4.42 GPA and am taking honors and AP classes and am a member of the National Honor Society. In addition to competing on the varsity volleyball team, I serve as Vice President of the Class of 2025 and President of the Black Student Union. I am also on the Discipline Committee and serve as a Student Ambassador at my school. I was selected for both roles by the faculty and staff at Country Day.
This past high school season my team won the Division V State Championship. I was named 2023 All-State, All-Metro and District Player of the Year. I also participated in the AVCA Phenom College Prep Program where I took the Ryzer TAP Assessment. My results from the testing indicated that I am a Trailblazer and am elite in mental toughness, coachability and mental execution.
Being the daughter of a retired NFL athlete and a former college basketball player, I have been raised to understand being fully committed and working hard to achieve one’s goals. My parents have instilled in me the belief that with commitment, dedication, hard work and proper training, my goals are attainable.
I look forward to continuing to grow and improve as an elite volleyball player as I pursue my dream to play at the collegiate level.
