Personal Statement
Ever since I was eight I have been involved in one sport or another, from individual to large team sports. Being the daughter of a track coach, I naturally became indoctrinated in that sport first. It’s with this strong parental influence that my understanding of the inner workings of sports has been viewed by me through many different lenses. With that early exposure to the benefits that athletics provides Sports have taught me many skills to develop me as a person and an athlete.I have partaken in a range of sports from individual to large team sports. I am able to play these sports because I am a dynamic athlete. Track & Field has been a part of almost my whole life and has conditioned me mentally. Track & Field also groomed me to overcome adversity which requires perseverance, mental toughness, and patience which I do posses. Soccer has taught me to observe all of my options before making a decision. Cheerleading taught me teamwork. Without trust there is no team and, without a team there could be no effective cooperation . Volleyball has taught me worth ethic and boosted my competitiveness. . All of these characteristics that I possess has made me the person and athlete I am today. Sports taught me teamwork, hustle, make smart decisions, overcome adversity, and to compete in life . My coaches would always say that what you put in is what you will get out and I implement that in my life. Being a student-athlete has helped me learn how to prioritize my goals in order to achieve those that are most important to me. teamwork is a critical aspect of success. One of the most important lessons that I have learned is to always focus on the next point. Like life, the game keeps going, even when you make a mistake. Being a student-athlete has taught me that I can recognize what went wrong and continue to concentrate on all that comes next.
