Sydney Wilber '19 Recruiting Profile

    My name is Sydney Wilber and I am a class of 2019 Middle Hitter for the Middletown High School varsity volleyball team in Middletown,  Maryland as well as for WACO 17/18s team in the DC area. My athletic interest started at the age of two, and by age seven I was a state qualifying competitive gymnast for five different gyms around the United States for several years. I am also the child of a military family and have lived  in multiple states as well as Europe.  These experiences have provided me with the skills to adapt and easily adjust to a variety of situations. Since I was very young, I have been taught through years and multiple hours of training the importance of physical fitness, dedication, sacrifice and teamwork. 

I transitioned to Volleyball as a Freshman, and by my Sophomore year, I had the opportunity to play on the same high school varsity team as a 2016 All American Team pick and Division I player.  Her positive influence has improved my skills and has motivated me to play at the collegiate level as well.  I am a well-rounded player that is able to step into any position I am needed, including back row if necessary.  I constantly give  100% effort in anything I pursue such as schoolwork/academics, volleyball, workouts, and being a great teammate.  My excellent time management skills have allowed me to maintain a 3.9 GPA while actively participating in high school, club and beach volleyball teams throughout the year.

    As I move into the club season and my third year of playing on the varsity team (being one of the youngest in my graduating class), I plan to grow even further and challenge myself on the court, in the classroom and in my community.
