Personal Statement
I am a good candidate for a college team because I know and understand the commitment and sacrifice to play at the elite level. I am coach able. I will play any position and I am a coach's daughter. My father and his 2 brothers played in the NFL, and currently my 2 brothers have full football scholarships at Boston College. I know the importance of academics while still performing at an elite level.
Success in the classroom is very important to me. Even with my learning disability, I work hard in and out of the classroom. It is not always easy for me, but I study hard and take advantage of the academic support that is provided to me. Teachers comment on my determination and drive in the classroom. They often state that they wish more students took the same pride in their work ethic. This determination, pride and success carries on to the court.
I am a positive and committed player. As an athlete I take a lot of pride in being a dominant hitter and blocker. I am a team leader on and off the court. No matter the situation, I am putting my heart into the game and helping my team mates to keep a positive attitude. It does not matter if we are winning or losing, my attitude and effort is what matters most to me. My commitment level is such, that I gave up 14 years of competitive dance and my high school varsity and AAU basketball career, to focus solely on the sport that I love.
I feel that my hard work, self discipline and drive for success makes me the perfect candidate to be a student athlete.
