Personal Statement
I am a consistent and hardworking middle blocker from Sutton, MA. I started playing volleyball in the seventh grade so I am going into my sixth year playing volleyball. I am currently playing for Cmass Juniors, my primary position being middle blocker while my secondary position as a right side/opposite hitter. I am a committed player and look forward to continuing my volleyball career throughout college.
I believe that volleyball revolves around your teamwork. Without your teammates, the game is nothing. As senior captain during my high school season I saw first-hand how our success was due to teamwork. Volleyball is such a quick game, communication between those on court is key to the success. I often make individual goals in each of the games I play but I am equally excited when one of my teammates accomplishes their goals as I am when I succeed.
I just recently participated in the New England Winterfest with my club team. This was the largest tournament I had attended and was thankful for the opportunity it gave me to play in such a large tournament that allowed me to expand my horizons and communicate with possible college coaches. I am looking forward to the upcoming tournaments this season and to continue my search for a collegiate team.
My education is as important to me as my athletics. I am looking for a college that will challenge me, as I am currently challenging myself through AP and Honors classes. I am interested in a career in Elementary Education and am considering a minor in art, or at least the opportunity to work on my art. I hope to find a college that fits my needs and allows for me to become a successful student-athlete and further my opportunities.
