Alexandra Barkley '21 Recruiting Profile

Hi my name is Alexandra Barkley! I live in Worcester Massachusetts and I go to Doherty High school. Throughout my life sports have been a very important aspect. While growing up playing sports I was taught many important life lessons. When I was five I joined an all star cheerleading team. I then continued cheerleading until the age of 13. Throughout my cheerleading career I placed 4th in the nation and won state champion many times.

At the age of 12 I began volleyball. I am now 15 and volleyball has become my life. I love the sport of volleyball because as much as it is a team sport it is also an individual sport. I also love that in volleyball you can always progress. You can always hit a bit harder or pass a bit better.  I started playing club volleyball my freshman year of high school at Dragon’s Volleyball club. I was a starter my sophomore  and junior year of high school. My sophomore year I was named co-captain and my junior year I was named captain.  I also represented my school for the  MIAA and was named an official MIAA leader.

My main goal is to play volleyball in college. I would love to continue to play the sport I love at a higher level. I am willing to work as hard as I can to get to this place. I am a hardworking athlete that never settles to be okay.
