Personal Statement
Stepping on the court for my first-ever High School volleyball game impacted me in so many ways. Yes, we lost but that one game showed me how much love I truly have for the sport. We took the game to five sets; I had to dig deep, use my encouraging attitude, dedication, and leadership skills to keep the team spirits high even when we were losing.
When I first started playing, in second grade, I knew that volleyball was going to be the sport I wanted to grow up playing. I moved schools in 8th grade, twice, and once in 9th grade, making it a challenge to make and keep friends. I didn’t have a lot of stable friendships in elementary school, I never struggled to get friends because I’m a very outgoing person, I just struggled to have true friendships. Volleyball changed that for me, and I now have so many strong, true friendships.
