Mackenzie Mahoney '24 Recruiting Profile

For as long as I can remember volleyball has been what I eat, sleep and breath. I have been playing for 9 years and I haven't looked back. I started out at a very little league at our local YMCA and I played there for about 4 years. I then moved to my first club team, Triple Threat. I played there for about 3  years. While I was there I won quite a few medals for winning Gold, Silver, and Bronze at different tournaments. I also received awards for serving. I got 4 pins for seeing 6 serves in a row in a game, I got 3 pins for serving 9 serves in a row, I got 3 pins for serving 12 serves in a row, and I got a trophy for seeing 15 serves in a row. While at triple threat I played on their 12u, 13u and 14u team while being an age younger. After my 4 years there I moved to South Lyon Dynamite, I played for their 15 Adidas team, which at the time was their select team. While I was there I also won many medals for Gold, Silver and Bronze at different tournaments. This year I moved to Force Volleyball Academy where I was selected for their 18 select team. For school, I was on the 7th and 8th grade team. In high school, I was on the Freshman team, and am now moving to Varsity as a Sophomore. I can play most positions, I mainly specialize in Outside hitter and Setter. Although I have played middle and right side. I have never played DS, but I have played all around as an outside. 

I feel as if I am the leader of the court. I try my hardest to always be the one that is positive and uplifting. I have been captain for about 2/3 of the teams I have been on. I also feel as if on teams I am the one that people come to talk to on and off the court. 

Academically I am looking to major in Pre-Med or Biology. My dream job is to be a pediatric surgeon. All through school I have kept my grades high. I currently have a 3.4 GPA. I am in my Sophomore year. I am taking AP-U.S. History and Acc- ELA 10.
