Personal Statement
My name is Kristin Maust and I am a 5'7" OH with a jump touch of 9'5". I go to Stoney Creek High School in Rochester Hills, MI. As an incoming senior, I have been in the Stoney volleyball program for 3 years. In our 2019 season, our varsity team went 53-9 and stayed a top ten school in the state all season long. We won districts for the third time in a row in the 2019 season as well. I also have been a varsity sprinter and hurdler on Stoney's track team since I was a freshman which, along with club, helps me stay in shape all year long.
Ever since I stepped foot into Stoney's volleyball program, I have been striving to be the best volleyball player I can be and look up to be as good as or better than my older teammates. I have been on a national level team for three years now. I am always being told of how athletic I am, thanks to my mom and dad, who both played college sports. Athletics isn't the only area I strive to be the best in, though. My academics have always been very important to me. During my freshman and sophomore year, I was juggling track, club volleyball, and school during the spring sports season. I also have been weightlifting consistently. Even with this tough workload, I've been an Oakland Activities Association scholar athlete in both track and volleyball. I have been maintaining a high GPA of a 3.98 but I hope to improve it with my classes future classes.
I am looking forward to college to continue my athletic and academic career. I take pride in myself as a person, student and athlete. As a person, I strive to be honest and do the right thing. I am kind to others and I'm confident I can make a positive impact on a college campus whether in a classroom or athletic arena. I'm also looking forward the personal growth that is a big part of the college student-athlete experience. Finding a college that's the perfect fit is one of the most important steps for the next season of my life.
