I have loved volleyball since day one. My sophomore year of high school I decided it was my dream to play in college. The court is a place I go to enjoy myself and blow off steam. If I'm having a bad day, I know that when I step foot in the gym, I am home and ready to work. The game of volleyball is fast, exciting, and strategic. I not only want to play in college because I love the game, I want to play with people I can become life long friends with. I'm in search of a family that I can play with on the court and hang out with off the court. I operate on a list of goals and tasks.
Finding a college with the right major for me is above all the most important thing. Life goes on after volleyball. The degree I achieve will be my dream job. I am bound and determined to make that happen. I've seen what its like to go to a job you hate everyday. Happiness fades and life becomes miserable. I do not want that problem. I have been taught that hard work and dedication will pay off. The results may not always be immediate but they will come when the time is right.
Volleyball and horses. Those have been my two passions since the beginning. Both have built me from the ground up.
I owe it to some of my coaches for supporting me and really having faith that I can do big things in the game of volleyball. They pushed me to lead my teams. With volleyball being a team sport, it has helped me in finding ways to motivate and help others reach the desired goals made. It is a lot of pressure but I am never scared of a challenge. If I lead with confidence, the team shall follow with motivation and play together in perfect harmony.
Horses is more of an individual sport. You are the only one that has control. It has taught me how to motivate my self more than anything. I can not blame others if anything went wrong. A horse is a large animal. I started at the age of 6 learning how to control and move them with my own body. I would like to say riding works your brain more than your body. You have to think 5 steps ahead for both yourself and your animal. Over the years I have learned that when you make a bond with an animal, nothing can compare to it. Its amazing. It is a love everyone should experience.
By doing both an individual sport and team sport, it lets me see all aspects and view points of the game. It has contributed to my competitive nature and motivation to succeed.
