Personal Statement
I come from a basketball family. Both my mom and dad played basketball at the collegiate level, my uncle played at the professional level, and both of my grandfathers, along with my mom, coached at the varsity level in high school. I love basketball, but as I have continued to play both basketball and volleyball, I realize that volleyball is my passion. I would like to continue my volleyball career after high school graduation and play at the collegiate level. I am able to bring a lot to a team with my athleticism, my height, my work ethic, and my desire to always improve. My coaches have said that they are very impressed with my improvement in the off-season. I am willing to put in the time and the hard work so that I can be the best player for my team, both during the season and when we are out of season. I have earned All-League, All-Catholic, and All-Regional honors during my high school career. While I greatly appreciate the recognition of my hard work, I am more proud of the fact that I am a part of team that made it to the quarterfinals in the MHSAA state tournament last year, with hopes of going even further this year. Being a part of a team is important to me. I have joined many clubs at school, along with being on Student Council for three years, because I like to work together with others towards a common goal. I like to challenge myself both athletically and academically. I maintain a high GPA and carry a work load that includes both honors and AP classes. I love my life right now. While sometimes it gets hectic and overwhelming, I love that I can balance school, volleyball, having fun with my friends and teammates, and spending time with my family. I feel that I can do those same things at the collegiate level with success and I hope that I get the opportunity to do so.
