Rachel Speck '19 Recruiting Profile

Volleyball is my passion. Playing volleyball has taught me so much, like how to be a good leader and that having a positive attitude is key. I have also learned that if I work hard and never give up I am on the road to success. After a losing season my freshman year and now placing second in both conference and districts during my sophomore year has encouraged me to always persevere.

As an athlete I also know how important my academics are.  I have learned that being able to balance my academics and being able to fulfill my responsibilities as an athlete is important for me to be successful in high school and in college. I know what it is like to balance both. I have been on the national honor society for the last 2 years along with playing varsity volleyball and traveling with my national level club team from January to June.

I am always looking for ways to improve my volleyball skills. I am involved in a year around strength and conditioning program, I sign up for extra camps and training with my club, and go to college camps in the summer. 

When it comes to choosing the right college, I am looking at the different types of degrees that are offered. I do not know for sure what degree I will choose, but my interests include; biology, education, science and marketing. My goal is to be a successful college student and a college athlete playing the sport I love. I know if I continue to work hard I will make my dream come true.
