My name is McKenzie and I’m a setter graduating in 2023. I had the privilege to join our varsity team my freshman year as we traveled to State and took 3rd place. The experience of playing in those high intensity games was thrilling and the school spirit was addicting. It was definitely something I will never forget. Although it's been a struggle last year with Covid hindering our playing time, it has challenged me to work even harder on and off the court and cherish every moment we get to play. I also got the opportunity to play the Libero position last year 2020 at the varsity level, due to some of our players being out. This experience has made me a competitive player and a stronger asset to my team. I’ve continued to work on building my skills in playing libero as well as serving, setting, and passing. This is year 2021 I am the starting setter four our belle Plaine varsity team!
Looking to the future, it has always been my dream to play volleyball at the college level! Therefore, my goals for college are to find a school that will help me achieve my academic goals while pursuing my athletic goals. Even though this year has been full of unknowns, I know that I’m dedicated and consistent on everything I set my mind towards. I have been that teammate who has stayed after practice to work with our hitters and build on my setting ability. I have always been that student who turns in all of their work two weeks before the due date. In other words, I use my time wisely and I’m very organized. Since the beginning of my volleyball journey, I have been placed on teams with more experienced players. This opportunity has helped me build some amazing relationships. I have learned so much from all of them which makes me very appreciative for all the experiences I've had so far and driven to create more in college. Hence, it would be an honor to attend your school and be a part of your team!
