Personal Statement
I started playing volleyball in fourth grade, and it has changed who I am as a person. I have more dedication and perseverance, not only on the court, but in the classroom, in relationships, and in other aspects of life. I have learned how to be a teammate at all times, and I have learned my teammates are my family. I didn’t have the opportunity to play my freshman year because of a back injury, but while I was doing physical therapy I was the team manager for the C Team at my high school. That experience was difficult for me emotionally, but it helped me develop my mindset into “I will do what I am capable of doing for my team now.” I believe it is important to give whatever I can for my teammates. In addition to being committed to my team, I am also a very committed student, and I push myself as much as I can in the classroom. I am taking all the honors classes my school provides, and I plan to continue to push myself as I further my education in college. I am a charismatic leader and a devoted athlete, and I know I can contribute to your team!
